Deer Valley Athletic Club is in the business of making your health and fitness goals a reality! Continue reading to learn how we can help you make 2026 your year!

Does this sound familiar…
You open your eyes on January 1st with a renewed sense of vitality. This is the year that you are going to actually meet your health goals! You open your notes app to your “New Year, New Me” checklist. It probably looks something like this:
- Step 1: Wake Up at 5:00 am.
- Step 2: Make a high protein smoothie.
- Step 3: Go to the gym and walk 10k step, complete “Day 1” of new pilates workout series on Youtube, and do a light arm workout using free weights.
- Step 4: Drink a gallon of water before 8:00am.
You get up, go to your gym, and do it! But January 2nd rolls around and you crack your eyes open at 8:00am and realize that this isn’t going to work…
If it does, know you are not alone!
According to a study done by the University of Delaware, “[M]ost people — about 90% — give up on their New Year’s resolutions within the first few weeks of the year,” (Wolf). There are two main reasons that resolutions fail: life gets in the way or we get in the way.
Stephany at Medium writes, “The goals we set are often based on our current state (the person we are right now). But when we dream big, the person capable of achieving those goals isn’t our old self — it has to be a transformed, more capable version of us.
Most people start the year with good intentions and clear objectives, but they quickly get stuck in a loop of knowledge without action. They take one course after another, but they never finish — or never apply what they’ve learned,”.
Start Small. Stay Consistent. Get Support.
The problem isn’t that you don’t want it badly enough — it’s that most fitness plans ask you to change everything overnight. Real progress doesn’t come from doing the most. It comes from doing what’s sustainable.
At Deer Valley Athletic Club, we help you build routines that fit your real life — not just your January 1st motivation. We are a professional fitness community equipped to help you transition from having the thought to taking the action. The first action step you should take is learning more about our “Fitness Membership”.
